LINE Hydrogen offers help to Tasmanian businesses to fuel status as Australia's leading sustainable state

25 AUG 2022 | MEDIA RELEASE

Tasmanian business owners can now submit an expression of interest to receive free advice about the potential for green hydrogen energy in their business.

Launceston, Tasmania, 25 August, 2022 - With green hydrogen energy set to become widely available across Tasmania early next year, green hydrogen energy company, LINE Hydrogen, are opening a new pathway for local businesses to begin transforming their businesses with clean energy. The Australian-owned, independent energy company is leading the charge of green technology in Tasmania, rolling out green hydrogen and green hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles, stand-alone fuel cell electrical power generators, and very-high efficiency zero-emission hydrogen-powered boilers.

LINE Hydrogen is set to begin production of green hydrogen in early 2023 out of the Bell Bay Solar Farm in Northern Tasmania. Eager to support the local community and showcase the potential of green hydrogen through a range of applications, LINE Hydrogen is calling upon Tasmanian businesses seeking to cost-effectively reduce emissions and reliance on imported fossil fuel consumption, to contact LINE Hydrogen in order to learn about the options available to Tasmanian businesses, and how green energy can be utilised within their organisation.

LINE Hydrogen is already working with a number of businesses across Tasmania seeking to transition to net-zero emissions, from small family-owned businesses to some of Tasmania's largest companies.

Earlier this year, when discussing LINE Hydrogen, incoming Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Chris Bowen, said: "Converting the heavy vehicle fleet in Australia over time, whether they be trucks or busses, is an important part of lowering emissions and also is very important in regards to creating jobs for the future." Brendan James, Founder and Executive Chairman of LINE Hydrogen said "If your company is transporting its goods or people using diesel-powered trucks or busses, we'd like to hear from you. If your company is currently running diesel-powered truck or bus fleets, we'd like to hear from you. If you are currently generating electricity or steam using diesel or gas, we'd like to hear from you." "Our mission is for Tasmania to be the first state in Australia to cost-effectively convert from fossil fuel power to renewable green hydrogen power. To do that, we need Tasmania's forward-thinking businesses - large and small - to come forward, and talk with us about how we can all make that possible today. Tasmanian businesses have the opportunity right now to lead Australia and the world in sustainable zero-emission operations, and directly benefit from the long-term financial and environmental rewards. Now is the opportunity for your company to lead the pack." While hydrogen is known to be a highly efficient energy source, the creation of most types of hydrogen historically involved the use of fossil fuels. The hydrogen produced by LINE Hydrogen will be developed utilising solely renewable energy, using a process called electrolysis, from which the only byproducts are drinking water and medical- grade oxygen.

Diesel-based supply chains have been one of the most talked about industries where hydrogen could be a sustainable fuel source replacement, however the applications for the clean energy source extends across sectors. LINE Hydrogen has developed technology solutions that make their green hydrogen usable as a fossil fuel replacement for primary industries, car fleets, and on-water applications, as well as an electricity replacement for diesel, petrol or gas fired electricity generators and boilers for large infrastructure, manufacturing and distilling.

LINE Hydrogen recently entered into a partnership with Jericho Energy to develop a range of large-scale boilers for heating, steam generation, manufacturing, and distilling operations. The hydrogen boilers have very high efficiency (97%) compared to regular diesel or gas-fired boilers (75-80%), as there are no off-gasses where heat is lost.
Earlier this year, LINE Hydrogen raised $1.38 million from a crowdfunding campaign Aware of the eagerness of environmentally-conscious Australians to help accelerate the green energy transition, LINE Hydrogen opened their doors for private investors to help accelerate the production of clean hydrogen. This latest initiative reflects LINE Hydrogen's community-driven commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions that benefit all Australians.
